BARP.PT and wing wrap replacement performed under 3% Iso lasting approximately 5 minutes. Padded fig-8 with wrist bumper replaced to R wing after PT was complete. Small superficial wound found on R TBT cleaned, debrided, and bandaged.

cleaned with Chlorhex and gently debrided. Light bleeding present
during cleaning, with healthy tissue present on wound and surrounding
area. Wound was flushed, small amount of silvergel was applied,
then covered with Telfa and Tegaderm.

BARP, hopping all around. 44 g LO. I wonder if this bird would benefit from being somewhere bigger to stimulate appetite. Try tomorrow? RN notified me that L TMT was bruised during tx this AM. I recall this bird having scabs along the TMT when I checked him in - maybe bruising is finally declaring itself.

Bird was accidentally given wrong tx this morning before wound care/PT. He was already brought to the hospital for treatment before we discovered this so we went ahead with a bandage change but did not do PT; could not use ISO. MC looks good. Dark green bruising, but picked off a mat of bloody/scabbed feathers over wound site and it looks great; just a tiny wound remaining, fresh bleeding. Cleaned and applied silver gel but did not cover with telfa/tega. Rewrapped with sam splint, cast padding, and vet wrap in fig 8 bandage.

BARP, feisty in hand. Anesthetized under 3% iso for intake rads. Bird was resistant to having R wing manipulated, increased to 4%. Rads confirmed distal major metacarpal fx. Fx is well aligned, wing has full ext. Scrubbed MC with chlorhex, doesn't look open at this point, hematoma has resolved. Applied Silver Gel with telfa/tega bandage. Applied SAM Splint with padded figure 8. Recovery was very quick. Start PT Q3D under GA. Banded on R leg, L TMT has scabs. Did not eat everything last night. Moved to condo.

Right remiges: primaries 6-1 missing. 6 was hanging from wing while bird was in box, fresh blood.

RTHA found wandering on finder's front steps, wet from rain. On admission, bird presented very BAR, tried flying out of box when opened. Administered torb and scrubbed R wrist with chlorhex, applied Silver Gel, and covered with telfa/tega + padded figure 8. Injuries seem more consistent with vehicle collision, considering bird was found in central Charlotte. Will need a long time to regrow feathers. Moved to KR2 kennel with towel.
